There was an advertisement over the intercom at my school about the internship project. They said it was hands-on work, and that's what I was looking for. I want to be in the trades. I like the idea of working hard and not sitting down for hours at a time. My mom used to work for the Oakland Zoo. And my cousin does construction work.
It [the program] is pretty cool so far. I worked with Tom's metal specialists in Danville and watched them lift beams 40 feet in the air. At another site, I watched them put in some sinks and toilets.
I want to be an electrician. I'm used to working with electrical objects. I've taken apart my computer and put it back together and I've fixed my videogame console. I still want to check out some other stuff, but I’m pretty set on being an electrician. I like the big projects.
