I go out and check waste systems and plumbing to protect the health of the city. A lot of people do plumbing and don't know what they're doing. They can blow up a house and kill someone. I get complaints from neighbors, such as when the sewer from one house is leaking into another neighbor's house. I have to investigate the location of the leak. A lot of sewer leaks, groundwater is coming from an unknown location. Sometimes you can solve them right away or it can take a long time. I have had complaints that went on for over a year trying to find a leak. We go house to house doing die tests to find out where it’s coming from. Some people are thankful, and that gives you a good feeling, that you found a leak no one else could.
