Building Inspectors

Organized Labor

Casey Burkhart, BG Flather Construction
When the electrical inspector came out, he told us all the things that can cause people to fail and how to be ready for the final inspection. He gave us helpful advice, like to make sure we take a picture of the tip bracket for the subzero refrigerator, so we wouldn’t have to pull it out to show the inspector it was installed. We trust our electrical sub and our plumbing sub to be current with the code. So they actually like to be there at the inspection so they can pick the inspector’s brain to see if there's anything they might have missed or that they need to look out for in the future. There is a lot to keep up with, and I don't know all of it. So we have to trust our subs to know their trades. Dennis Carlin, Inspector: The contractors rely on the building inspectors to make sure all their subcontractors are doing the work correctly. We help them maintain quality control.
