I love welding. It is therapeutic.
It's an art, and it takes a lot of practice. It's very frustrating at first. You get bored. It takes time under the hood. The more time you put in, the more success you have. It's about concentration and posture.
I was working two jobs and just had a kid and was not really making anything. A good friend's father, who had been a pile driver for 30 years, kept telling me about the pay and that he could get me in the union. I wasn't sure what a pile driver was at the time. Now I love it.
