My favorite part is that there is a lot to learn. Just when you think you know everything, you find there is more to learn. I like laying things out. You get a drawing, and you have to figure out the angle of the fittings and the length to make it all happen. Everyone has different ways of doing the same thing. It is really interesting and taught me a lot about respecting how everyone thinks differently.
Before this, I did automotive work for about six years. Then I got my pilot's license and flew planes, but mainly for recreation. I drove a cab in the city for 13 years, and even while I was learning the trade.
Now that I'm getting older, I'm trying to figure out what I can do when I can no longer lift up heavy things and need a job that is more sitting.
