“For me, I have enjoyed every moment. It has
felt like a privilege to serve the movement. No matter what is happening in the world, you can’t give in to it. If it touches you, you have to act, to at least be a naysayer. That is what I get out of life. Without passion, nothing happens, but passion is a blinding force without critical thinking. It leads people astray. The impassioned mover of history isn’t necessarily a historian. I saw trade union organizers that were decent become opportunists, and most of the revolutionaries I knew were better people before they came to power, yet they accomplished things for people that no one else did.”
