“What can we do next year to mitigate some of the devastation we're expecting? Cuts are inevitable at this point. We can't do it all in tax increases and we can't do it all in cuts so it's going to have to be a combination of the two. We need to do the same thing that we did last year, hit the capital hard. We had 42 lobby days and had over 3,000 people go to the capital. Legislators told us it gave them a lot of support. We had our workers explain the actual impact of a lot of these cuts. A lot of legislators don't understand what all these numbers mean, they don't connect them to a human face.”
